Change of Course Categories for Joint Majors

What is Change of Course Categories?

  • To avoid redundant application of the same course work, we have established a priority scheme for graduation evaluation in which a particular course work is counted as in the order of major -> double major -> secondary major -> joint major.
  • Despite this given order, if you want particular course works to be counted as requirements for joint major, you need to apply for the change of course categories.
  • In addition to this process, you may want other course works to be counted as requirements for joint major. This application is to be reviewed by the supervising professor of the joint major according to operating bylaws.

Eligibility

  • Degree candidates who are doing a joint major
  • The course works that you want to be counted as joint major subjects and that are also counted as major, double major, secondary major, or general electives

Application

  • At the beginning of each semester (specific dates to be posted)
