General Overview

The Graduate School of Small Business was established in 1983, the first of its kind in Korea, to foster qualified professionals who will lead the nation's economic and social development through the strong build-up of small businesses. Since then, the School has contributed considerably to the advancement of small and midsize enterprises by producing professionals and scholars through teaching and research activities. As the importance of small and midsize enterprises increases for economic and social reasons, the School is expected to be a center for education and research of small and midsize businesses. In March, 1985, the School started a small business CEO program, a six-month intensive program, aka AMP. Since then, a total of 2,378 students have completed the program through 43 sessions, and in the 44th session there were 24 students enrolled in the program. Since March, 1990, the School began to offer another CEO program, producing more than 800 graduates so far. As of February, 2011, the School has produced more than 650 graduates with a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA). Each year, the School admits up to 50 students. The importance of strong small business cannot be emphasized too much for political and social as well as economic reasons.
